Notes from the Executive Director
The first time I heard about the Ice House event and Warm-a-Thon by Dollar Energy Fund, a fuel fund led by our illustrious NEUAC Board President Chad Quinn, the Disney movie “Frozen” immediately came to mind with Elsa, the silver-haired princess, singing “the cold never bothered me anyway.”
But as we all know, the cold does bother people, especially the elderly, the shut-ins, the disabled, little children.
Congratulations to Dollar Energy Fund and to Chad for hosting another successful event and continuing to draw attention to the plight of struggling families in the Pittsburgh area to keep warm. Thank you to the volunteers who and held vigil at the Ice House to raise money for fuel funds. What an inspiring event.

I am inordinately excited about the turtle hatching, Water Affordability Summit, Port Everglades Natural Gas Power Plant tour, and incomparable Vaughn McKoy of PSEG who also happens to be acclaimed author as our opening speaker. The 2017 NEUAC Annual Conference will be unforgettable!

LIHEAP Action Day, State Team Leaders, Regional Teams
We held a successful webinar last week for State Team Leaders. Thank you to those of you who volunteered for this important (and fun!) position. State Team Leaders will report up to regional teams composed of all state team leads, which will then report up to NEUAC. Formalizing this structure will help NEUAC’s large and broad membership form regional and local peer groups, maximizing the ability to share and disseminate information. As board members, you will be asked to assist with regional group meetings on the last day of the Annual Conference and discuss the best ways to utilize this structure to support members in their day-to-day activities. Welcome to our State Team Leads!
