Katrina Metzler
Executive Director

Katrina Metzler has dedicated her career to community service and advocating for those most in need. She has a wide range of experience in the fields of energy, education and poverty-fighting programs spanning more than 20 years.

Prior to NEUAC, she was the Energy Services Director for the National Association for State Community Services Programs (NASCSP). Prior to her work in Washington D.C., she was employed by the State of Ohio, where she was the Section Supervisor for the Weatherization Assistance Program, managing one of the largest energy efficiency programs in the country. Ms. Metzler was appointed to the State Energy Advisory Board in 2013 serving the Assistant Secretary for Energy, where she provided critical expertise to improve access to services and program delivery. Ms. Metzler was the Executive Director for Family, Adult and Children First Council in Fairfield County, Ohio, a county organization that supported families through grant funds for family mental health services, childhood injury prevention, Early Start, and more. She also was the Director of New Business Development at Pickaway County Community Action Agency for five years, and coordinated an adult education program at the county level for 14 years.

Erin
Erin Mao
Operations Director

Erin Mao has supported operations for mission-driven membership organizations ranging from small, volunteer-led efforts to large, federated models. Her experience spans member and board management, development, communications, finance, HR, IT and compliance.

Prior to joining NEUAC in 2021, Ms. Mao managed board relations for Goodwill Industries International. She also served nearly a decade at the Alliance to Save Energy, a bipartisan coalition of business, government, environmental, and consumer leaders advocating to advance federal energy efficiency policy. Ms. Mao held various roles leading the Alliance’s membership program, grant fundraising efforts, and overall operations.

Ms. Mao previously worked in Beijing, China, where she consulted on corporate responsibility and strategic communications for APCO Worldwide and served as a teaching fellow at the China Foreign Affairs University with Princeton-in-Asia.

She has made a significant impact at various non-profits and small businesses through her expertise in website design, brand identity, and marketing strategy. She is a Midwest transplant currently living in Long Beach, CA.

Jennifer Whiting

Jennifer is the Executive Director of Logistics and Client Relations at Meeting Solutions, Inc. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, she holds a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. She joined the MSI team in May 2000 with ten years of operations and sales experience in the industry. Jennifer’s hotel background includes sales and hospitality training programs from Renaissance, Marriott, and Hyatt. She brings this experience to each negotiation, pre-convention meeting, and vendor relationship. Known for her excellent customer service skills and ability to understand clients’ needs, clients continue to rely on Jennifer and MSI’s expertise and experience.
